"Left of Bang"
Left of bang was designed for drivers of all ages and skill levels. Many traffic safety presentations are heavy on the problem and very light on solutions.
Left of bang is a concept used in military combat operations, law enforcement training and should be practiced by every person who is outside of their safe place.
The purpose is understanding that "BANG" is where bad things happen and in this context we use "BANG" as a vehicle crash.
Left of bang provides the mental preparation to navigate hazards encountered in vehicle operation.
This presentation encourages being prepared for anything that may occur during the commute.
This presentation also teaches the "OODA Loop" concept. Also a military and law enforcement safety practice. OODA Loop defined, Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act.
Any driver who navigates the hazards of traffic will learn to use Left of bang and OODA Loop to mentally stay ahead of the dangers posed by aggressive and dangerous drivers.

Crash Course in Distracted and Defensive Driving
- Designed for the agencies and company owners that are unable to close their operation to have their employees attend a defensive driving course or take the course online.
- The bottom line is if the employees are not being productive while taking an online defensive driving course or attending a course in person, the company is not making money or providing services.
- The bottom line is why you stay in business and insurance is usually the largest cost, short of payroll.
- Companies do not budget for crashes as a line item because they are not supposed to happen.
- Crashes cost money tie up resources and today, it doesn’t matter if your driver is at fault or not.
- Crashes reported to the insurance company normally comes with increase in premium.
- Those not reported come directly out of the budget. Either way it is an expense that is totally preventable.

- We take a hard look at the way society views traffic law, injury and death.
- Discussion includes how society views criminals as opposed to traffic law violators, and how society fears the criminal where a traffic law violator can be more dangerous and certainly more frequent.

The Driving Epidemic
- More than 37,000 Americans lose their lives and 250,000 are injured on the highways of the United States every year.
- More than 6000 teens will go out for a drive and never come home annually.
- Our country uses the term “Epidemic” to describe a problem that has grown out of control.
- Motor Vehicle crashes are not defined by the United States as an epidemic even though the problem appears to be out of control.

- A Driver is a person who has a license and can get a vehicle from point A to point B, skill is subjective.

- Distracted driving has been defined as a serious and life threatening practice.
- Distracted driving is anything that would take the drivers attention away from the task of operating their vehicle.
- With every technology advancement placed in the vehicle for safety, drivers see it as another opportunity to engage in other activities.
- America views their commute as down time and fill that time with all kinds of distractions.
- Most drivers believe they can multitask and do not realize the brain can only focus on one critical task at a time.
- The message is simple, when you're driving, drive.
- Be deaf and blind to everything except the operation of you vehicle the road and other vehicles around you.

Be Wiser
- Society is perplexed at why teens and young adults do things that seem to be so dangerous and outrageous.
- Why teens gravitate toward alcohol and drugs to enhance the party experience. Be Wiser tries to make sense of the insanity.
- First students are educated on their lack of ability to weigh the risk verses reward. The prefrontal cortex and primitive brain functions combined with underdeveloped transmitters are explained on a level where students can understand. Combine this psychological issue with peer pressure, add alcohol and drugs into the equation and it becomes a recipe for disaster.
- Let’s not forget those who believe the laws do not apply to them and encourage pasture or house parties sponsored by adults.
- This presentation features two case studies. In these studies, alcohol and drug use, combined with peer pressure and a blatant disregard of law, resulted in loss of life, injury and rape of two underage females.
- We must educate the teen and young adults who are leaders and have the emotional strength to practice reverse peer pressure and prepare them for the college experience with the availability and frequent use of alcohol and drugs.
- Educate parents on the examples set for the teenagers who are allowed to consume alcohol and drugs under their roof and the liabilities that are associated with these practices
